HACKATHON #1

FINANCIAL SERVICES / SUPPLY CHAIN

19-21 October 2018

Kolektif House, 42 Maslak

One of the most debated topics in both the financial services and supply chain industries today is blockchain and distributed technologies. There is ostensible appetite to understand what blockchain is, but how to best use of it for better services delivery.

We have developed and tailor-made a hackathon program where enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, industry professionals and developers gather at a designated venue for a weekend to help generate blockchain and DLT ideas.

At this 48-hours long hackathon, we aim to identify disruptive ideas that could help to develop blockchain use cases in the targeted industries.

If you believe you have an idea that would make a difference, this is the opportunity to show yourself.

F.A.Q.

What is Hackathon?

The hackathon or ideathon is one of the activities that aims to develop knowledge and awareness towards distributed technologies as well as identify potential use cases in targeted industries. A hackathon is an intense event that brings together technical and non-technical professionals as well as enthusiasts to identify issues and create solutions, within a weekend.

Who could attend?

Anyone can attend. If you are under 18, you may participate only as part of a group that has members above 18. We highly encourage female participants to join the program.

What is the working language?

We go with the flow as Turkish is the natural working language due to majority of participants. But if you don’t speak Turkish, you are also welcome. We’ll do our best to designate you in a group of which its language will be English. Workshops, presentations and pitches might be in English due to diversity.

What do I bring?

This is a very hands-on event. Bring your laptops or other devices to whatever inspires you. But above all, bring your energy and your brain! Don’t worry if you forget something, there will be tons of stuff to do.

What is the goal of the hackathon?

We want to create an environment that embraces new ideas and technology solutions towards blockchain. We know it takes longer than a weekend to build great solutions, but this is ample time to form teams of good people and begin creating great solutions.

HOW DO I FORM OR JOIN A TEAM AND WHY?

We hope teams at the hackathon will form around industry problems and potential use cases expressed by the organization team. We do encourage participants to start forming teams before the event. If you would like to start a team or are looking for a team to join, be sure to attend the Friday evening mixer or make an announcement at the opening ceremony of the event on Saturday. You can also propose or join a team via our forums through social media ie Linkedin, Telegram, Whatsapp or others.

ARE THERE PRIZES OR AWARDS?

We might be able to provide cash and non-cash prizes thanks to our sponsors. But the greatest prize will be the idea or solution you will be producing alongside your team members.

Who owns my project and IP rights?

The team that develops the project is the owner of the project and IP. We do encourage sharing of code with others in the community or making code open source but it is not required to participate in the event.

Is there reimbursement for travel?

No, we do not offer any reimbursement for travel expenses.

Are there amenities during the event?

We will be providing food and beverages that might sustain your basic needs during the event. This is to help you not to leave the working station and disrupt the teamwork. If you have dietary restrictions or preferences, you might bring your own food or go out to dining during the event.

Is sleepover possible?

We will do our best to accommodate you overnight so you can stay, sleep a little and continue hacking. The accommodation at all events, however, is not warranted. When we provide it, be reminded that it may not be a hotel comfort.

Are there any terms and conditions for participants?

Yes. Please read the Terms and Conditions Clause once you are submitting your application.

Please email us at koop@koophub.com in case you need further information about the Hackathon.
